We’ve Got One Wonderful Tidbit From The Six of Crows Series Netflix Didn’t Greenlight

More than a few folks were upset to hear the news that Netflix didn’t move forward with a third season of Shadow and Bone. And to make matters worse, we also found out that the streamer commissioned a writers’ room for the Six of Crows spinoff, but decided not to move forward to production with the already-written scripts.

We might never see the full contents of those scripts, but we got the news from writer Christina Strain (via Collider), who shared a tidbit from the Six of Crows show that not only confirms that the spinoff centered around the Ice Court heist, but also how the series had Matthias repeated call Wylan, “Lamb,” causing Jesper to get jealous.

In the thread, she explains how she had Wylan trying to have Matthias look over a drawing of the Ice Court, and the Fjerdan was too grumpy to do so. Wylan tries to break the ice (pun intended, sorry) by telling Matthias a story about how his dad took him to the Ice Court once, and how he was so enthralled by the Isenulf. Their conversation goes on from there (you can get more details by checking out Strain’s post), but the end result has Matthias laughing and saying Wylan is more like a lost lamb than a lost wolf.

Details like this make me yearn even more to see Six of Crows on screen. Things are still up in the air for the show, though Strain said that she didn’t think her sharing this morsel would negatively impact the chances of it getting picked up elsewhere. “It’s just one scene of hundreds,” she posted. “And most of this scene in particular was me pulling from things that are already in the books. But don’t worry, there’s A LOT in the season that we haven’t mentioned.”

Let’s all keep our fingers crossed that we get to see the rest of the story!
